Hi. I’m Alex.
Over the past few years, I’ve worn a lot of hats. I’ve managed a college radio studio, trained baristas in a high-end coffee shop, and even worked as a backline technician for a country music festival. All the while, only two things have remained constant: I’ve always been writing, and I’ve always been taking pictures.
Recently, I’ve been fortunate enough to direct more of my energy towards both these pursuits. In 2017, I was accepted into a Master’s program in Creative Writing at the University of Cincinnati. UC is home to one of the most highly lauded creative writing programs in the country, and it’s been incredible to devote more time to writing in community with such impressive classmates.
Outside of academia, I work as the communications manager for La Grassa, a local coffee and gelato company, and as a social media and content specialist for the Thunderdome Restaurant Group and a few other local restaurants. In these roles, I help each business to grow and develop their own unique brand identity through visual and text content on a wide variety of social platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. I also manage and respond to customer messages and reviews and advise on concept and strategy when appropriate.
Though these pursuits often leave me with little time to spare, I take what little free time I have to record music, mix craft cocktails, and dog watch with my girlfriend, Tess.
